Who can I tell about? Oh, yeah! But first let's start with the character of the week: Kirby, in his most catatonic condition.
Yeah, cuz it's me, Kirby, with drugs, alcohol and no mind. But forget about that and let's begin with the topic.
The Artist who I [admire]... Who's this guy?!
Ah! maybe I could talk about... Max Fleischer, yes, Max Fleischer. Why him? Do you remeber Betty Boop or Popeye, the Sailor? No?... Oh guys, you should watch '20s and '30s cartoons.
Max Fleischer was one of the pioneers of the animated cartoons. He created classic Icons of the cartoon world, like the beautiful and sexy Betty Boop, and the characters Koko, the Clown, and bimbo, the Dog, who lived strange and surreal adventures in musical cartoons animated by him and his company (specially The Cab Calloway orchestrated cartoons and the colorful short film, Cinderella "played" by Betty Boop). Also, we could mention that he invented the technique called >Rotoscoping<, which allows to trace over live-action footage, frame by frame and create more realistic animated scenes.
Why do I "admire" him? It's not like I ADMIRE him... but as a pioneer in animation and considering the quality of his works, and for creating one of my beloved Waifus, I could say that... yeah, I kinda [appreciate] him.
His animations impacted me the first I watched them. That "Snow White" chapter simply amazed me, when Koko (the clown) starts his song and dance in an ice block. And how to forget "The old man of the Mountain", creepy, odd, but funny. I like the humor used, and I think somehow it influenced me in my creepy way to do things (specially stories). Well guys, remember, animation is cool, and practically is used in all kind of film.
The begining of this starts in the first years of the 20th century (fox - bad joke). Not only Disney (how I hate him), or Hanna-Barbera (Tom & Jerry is also cool). Watch those amazing cartoons and ADORE BETTY BOOP.
So, that's all F(olks)ers, and now I'm going to overthrow that King Dedede and his stupid monarchy again.
